This condition is not uncommon and patients typically feel very self conscious of their appearance. In most cases the excess fat and glandular tissue are removed with hardly any scarring. In patients seen after severe weight loss, a significant amount of skin has to be removed and thus the scars may be more extensive but tend to fade with time.
Most cases are done under local anaesthesia with sedation but general anesthesia is provided as well.
The final result of any treatment or esthetic procedure may vary from patient to patient.
